45 acp 1911 mag value

What would you expect to pay for used (very good condition) standard size mags for a .45acp Colt MK IV series 80 ?

Depends whether it is a "generic" GI type magazine or the real deal Colt factory magazine or one of the high quality after market maker mags.

ie. Need more info..... ;)

I picked up two or three of the blued mags from Dlask at the last local gun show. They've proven to work well in my own gun without any tweaking at all. And at $20 each you can't go wrong.

Shane at Freedom sells those too, ACT mags, made in Italy, same as DLask, very good (high) quality - I got 5 - not a single issue!!!

Colt, blued

If they are "real deal" factory Colt, blued, magazines for a Mk IV Series 80 they should look like this on the base(s):

The top one in the pic is used "very good condition", the bottom three are "like new".

Personally, I'd pay $20-$25 each for them, and feel like I did well. I scored all of the above off the EE at one time or another.

None of them are for sale, though.... ;) :)

What a tease! Love the sight of a stack of Colt .45 mags and a full cup of coffee!

No rampant colt????...... Its a fake then or war dated

Commercial Colt (pre-1970). Marked "Colt .45 Auto" on the bottom of the floor plate. Beware! Many of the after-market copies carry the same marking. However, the "counter" holes in the side of the magazine body are generally over-sized. The other dead give-away is the typeface ("font") used in the marking. It is not the same style font used by Colt, and the number "45" is usually not preceded by a decimal point.

Some more mag base pics for reference:

Here's a couple of WWII era Colt commercial mags:

Here's how the bases are "pinned" into the mag bodies on the above:

Here's the mag that's in my 1968 mfg Colt Government [1911A1]:

Note the script on the mag base is identical in font to the later Colt factory mags that have the rampant pony on the toe:
