45 acp 230gr and unique powder

Hi,

Looking for a fine load for 230gr copper plated RN and unique powder ... what is best for you ?

I load 6grns of unique and 230 grn frontier copper plated , I use the same load for 225 grn cast .

5.8 gr of Unique if you want to run close to Military ammo I have tested over a Chrony.

As an aside I found 231/HP38 and Titegroup to be more consistent and easier to work with than Unique. 5.4 gr of 231/HP38 or 4 gt of Titegroup worked well under 230 gr plated and lead bullets. 4.1 gr of Bullseye also worked well.

HI; I loaded some near max loads with UNIQUE and it rattled my teeth. This was a book load. I believe these book loads are dam hot. Load near start loads and see how you like it.

I used 6.2 and had excellent accuracy.

I have used gobs of the stuff at 6.0 grains and a 230 grain plated bullet. Dirtier than heck, but accurate enough.

Campro website suggest 5 to 6gr of unique with there 230gr FCP RN at 1.250 COL
i loaded 10 rounds at 5.0 and continue my way up to 5.4 and not convince yet

6.0 gr Unique is a good load in 45acp, been using it for two decades.
