Hi Everyone,

Just wondering what ammo people recommend? I know norinco is not suppose to be any good but what about CCI, PCM, Sellier & Belliot?I know winchester, federal, Remington are good. Also what stores online or in GTA has a good deal on ammo? Lastly for a hk usp what grain should I get I am assuming above 230g.

Thanks T

I'm pretty much sure that your USP will eat anything out there without serious problems.
As long as You can load your magazine a bit better than those guys can ;)

Look for the value packs or bulk buy. 45 ACP is crazy expensive those days.

Above 230gr ??? Nope. You'll have a hard time finding higher than 230gr. for .45 ACP

I used to think the same thing about Norinco. However having shoot 2000 rounds of Norc .45 acp in the last 2 weeks I think I've changed my mind. Canada Ammo has a good price, and great shipping. The norc ammo seemed hot and dirty to me. I used to shoot factory federal ($$$) and usually shoot my own 230gr hardball loads. So maybe I'm just mis remembering how hot factory is. I'm certain the Norc is dirtier then factor or my reloads.
I've used CCI, S&B, PMC, and Wincester 230gr 45acp. They are all more or less the same in my pistol. Never shoot Remington 45.

Hope it helps.

Thanks everyone. Does anyone know of any good deals in the GTA? Heading to basspro tomorrow hopefully they got a good deal? I think Al Flaherty has a good deal on the CCI.

Thanks T

If you're ok with cleaning your gun often the Norinco is as cheap as it comes next to reloading. Ive used PMC,AE, some factory reloads and Norc. All of it still shoots better than I will likely ever notice, that and I like shooting dirty .45 through my sig and treating it like a bad girl.

S&B is excellent, Fiocchi is excellent and from everyone I've talked to the Norc is just fine too, at almost half price. The answer to shooting 45 acp is reloading. Your HK will shoot any 45 auto that's in spec - 165, 180, 200, and 230 grain, even Plus P. I'm unaware of any useable loading for 45 auto that is heavier than 230 grain. And yeah, while they were busy not compromising, the dorks at the ad agency HK used loaded the mag backwards.

I have a hard enough time affording any .45 ammo so I just go with whatever is cheapest... lately that's Blazer Brass and I have no issues with it at all.

Wrong. Norinco is good ammo. I don't notice it being any dirtier than any other brand and it goes bang 100% of the time. Cheap and functional, don't see any negatives here. This is all I buy now.

A lot of times it is a question of finding a particular brand consistantly. I like the S&B stuff, but it can be hard to find. Fortunately I now have more than enough brass for reloading.

Better yet, find good brass and reload. Hard to beat $329/1000 with free shipping for Norinco factory ammo. It has a nice muzzle flash too!

Look up SFRC, shipping to TO will be cheap, plus you get a quote online when ordering. They have a good selection, including Wolf (reload) and S&B. case of 1000 S&B at409$...

Ok comes down to S&B or American Eagle what would you buy? Also anyone interested in splitting 1000 with me $200 each tax in but need to be in TO area?

Thanks T
