Have a number of these from range pickup and trying to identify the head stamp.

Would this be Norinco Brass and how suitable is it.. is it on par with Winchester Federal etc for quality.

Yes Norinco ammo and they reload fine but like Trinimon said they sometimes have tight primer pockets. Not as bad as s&b though.

Load away!

Funny you should say that I primed (75) S&B cases today with a Lee ERGO hand primer and my right hand is still sore.. so I gather it would be better with the Norc or other cases.

Other wise I need a better (easier) hand primer.

I should separate 50 norc cases and see how how many reloads I can get from it.

But if you chamfer the primer pocket you won't need to worry about them anymore.

LOL, at the end of summer, your forearms will look like Popeye and you'll have the death grip of a Shaolin monk.

Find a small/large primer pocket reamer bits and chuck 'em in a drill. :)

That is for the primer flash hole correct ?

Do you use a uniformer for the pocket itself?

That's for the primer pocket and what you want to use to fix the brass and remove any crimp if any is used.

They are no good - please send them to me for disposal.

I just reloaded a box worth. Seating primers is a pain, even on the press. I think I need a reamer. Other than that, they've been great.

Those are Norinco and I throw them in the garbage. Tight primer pockets, crap brass, not worth my time. I might reconsider though if I didn't already have thousands or pieces of decent brass.

Keep an eye out for small pistol primer pockets.I think they are used by Blaser?

Some Blazer, federal, Winchester, Speer, gci or gdl (can't remember the name exactly) all make small pistol primer brass.

I have loose fitting factory ammo trays that I dump the cleaned brass into then flip them upside down and sort for small pistol primers. I always miss 1 or 2.

Huh, I reload them all the time. Most of my brass is norinco. I don't ream them and I can jam the primer into them just fine. It's a touch tighter but no big deal.

Norc brass is fine. I do notice that some have slightly off center primer pockets... either that or my eyes are getting wonky trying to sort out all the small and large primer .45 brass.

I've heard some people who have reloaded Norc brass a few times say it becomes brittle and splits, but so far 4 loads with 5 grains of Titegroup, Dominion large pistol primer, and Norc brass have been alright. Not as smooth or easy as loaded Federal or CCI Blazer but it's not bad.
