Whats the deal with them? it was explained to me that they are legal but that theres some import law that makes it difficult...

I've searched but can't seem to find a retailer that sells them. Are they on the canadian market? IF so Where? If not, what would it take for me to get some?

Sorry if this is redundant, i did do a search in the site before asking and couldnt find any info.or did i search wrong...
 
They are legal. They are available. Since CCW doesn't exist for the most part up here, most of us shoot at paper targets and they rarely care about the bullet style. The JHP's are more expensive, so they are harder to find.

There was a period when some flunky at NRCAN essentially blocked importation of JHP ammo for pistols by offering the opinion that it was explosive ammo. That limited but didn't eliminate imports for a number of years. That opinion has since been reversed and the CBSA is aware that they are kosher for import.

Many guys shooting IPSC or Action pistol prefer the JHP design as they tend to be accurate. Some find that the center of gravity being further back may be an advantage. The sharp open nose cuts a nice scoring hole.

If you can afford the cost, they are worth working with.
 
P&D doesnt list any, neither does SFRC, and Epps has the least user-friendly website. Will check in with CRAFM
