Definately go cast or plated bullets, if you have time/patience to cast 45 especially you save big time. One thing not mentioned is the free feeling shooting your own ammo, it psychologically helps offset the price ofsetting up. We now load 7 or 10 rounds in our handguns as opposed to the ammo saving loads 5 shot mag loads.
Currently I have 1000 45 cast bullets I picked up at a gun show, plan to cast my own 45 after they're gone. I just grabbed 2000 plated 38 cal and am planning to grab plated 9mm as well, 45 is just that much extra that will push me to cast while the price i got the 38 for isnt worth the pain/poisoning to cast.
