.45 Acp loads for norinco 1911

What are you guys using for powder reloads for a norinco 1911 ? I work up to a max load of 4.3gr of univ clays , 5grs of trail boss, both shooting a .200 grain berrys rn. Both won't cycle the slide all the way . Back to factory ammo for now.

That is not enough powder you have been loading.

Trail Boss is not appropriate for the 45ACP. Clays Universal is excellent. Try 6.0 gr.

4.0 grains of Bullseye with the above 200gr bullet.Does 725fps.Nice accurate,soft target load.

4.2 grains Bullseye with a 230 RN for plinking and 5.0 Gr Bullseye with 230gr RN when doing serious distance. Never had any issues, easy to clean.

if it doesn't recycle well, it means the load is too light. it happened to me with HS-6 @ 8.0gr, 1 out of 10 will FTF. Then once goes up to 8.1 & 8.2, they were fine. since the range is too narrow, I now use longshot and have good results with 6.2-6.8 and settled on 6.5. with this load, grouping @ 15-meter is really tight and ok at 25 meters as well, but that's more of me as a newbie than the load. so, I am happy with the load and will keep using it until I switch to another powder.
