Just wondering what you guys out there find works best in your 1911 .45's. I've been loading for a while, but I'm thinking of finding a new load for my 45s. Preferably one that works well for both gov't models AND commander models. Any ideas or info appreciated.

I'm using 4.7g of Titegroup with a 230g copper clad round nose. Works well with my Para SSP, Sig 220 and Glock 21. :)

5.3 Gr Win 231 under 200 gr LSWC will give you IPSC/IDPA PF . The load is very accurate with reasonably light recoil. My faourite load for playing the games.

Take care

I have a friend down in North Carolina that swears by Unique in his ,45acp. I found it dirtier than 231 but then I shoot lead and must of the gunk build up comes from the lube. Also it does not meter as well as 231.

I really like Unique for 45acp. I forget the exact recipes but I've used Unique with 200gr and 230gr jacketed bullets with great results out of both commander and government models. It's not as clean as some but then again it's not as dirty as others. I've found it to be very accurate with the mild loads.
