im sure this has been covered numerous times but.... i have a semi auto 45 and wanna load up some shells. hp and fmj. suggestions? im told HS6 powder is the way to go. lead type and weight? primers? i want something that is clean. thanks!!
I have to ask friend. What do you shoot these handloads in? Sounds very hot.Ken waters had much to say about the 45acp. He said a 7th dose of 800x with any weight bullet worked great for him. As for my self I found that 6.5gr of unique under a 200gr swc works well. As for hunting rounds I use 10gr of 800x and magnum rifle primers under a 185 gr barns tac-x. The brass is only good for 2 loads like that but they are screaming out the end of the barrel. Of note this is way above max in any book and you should not try it.
I also find 800x to be cleaner that all other types of powder.
