.45 ACP Mauser

It had to happen sooner or later...the .45 P08 Luger and the .45 K98 Mauser...Cool...

I believe the .45 Luger (Prototype by George Luger - 1 of very few made and surviving, less than 6 or 7 made?) was in Canada in the 1960's for a short time before it went to the USA.

A.K.A the Million Dollar Luger.



And the Repro .45 Luger from the 90's made in the US...

The .45ACP shares the same case head dimensions with most Mauser cartridges, therefore it makes more sense to convert a Mauser into .45ACP than an Enfield, which is quite common nowadays.
 
If I recall correctly the Luger was in the running to be a USGI pistol once upon a time, at least there may have been trials;

There are US Gov't eagle-bearing Lugers out there, and they are spendy collectors' pieces...
