I called shooters choice looking for 45 acp brass and they said they 45 acp and 45acp +p brass. I am new to reloading and am curious is there diffrent brass for + p loads ? I know that you can load + p loads in 38 brass . If there is 45 acp + p brass what is the diffrence
Thanks
Stefan

Not sure, myself. If it's once fired, I would stay away from the +P, personally (subjected to higher pressures). If it's new, then *maybe* it's thicker brass. Actually, no, that would decrease case volume, and then you'd have to adjust all your load data, so that doesn't sound right. Man, I just don't know. Maybe ask over on the reloading subforum. Or just use non +P brass so you don't have to worry about it.

I may be wrong on this, but I think the only notable difference is the headstamp... so that you know its + p so you dont shoot it in a gun that cannot handle the extra pressure...

regardless, buy the normal stuff

I'm with Alpining - if it's once fired Plus P, it's had at least one max pressure load which won't extend it's life expectancy. Regular 45 auto brass lasts forever if it's loaded to spec, I'd stick with the regular stuff.
