Hey guys,

just wondering if anyone has any 45+P load data? I cant seem to find any listed in the books/usual spots i look for such. Also any guns you should not shoot it in? Any concerns in doing so? I shot some of the Hornady TAP 230gr FTX? i think it was. It had wicked kick, and was super accurate. But who wants to pay over a 1$ shot?
I dont.

cheers.

I believe the saami max for the 45 is 21000 cup and +p is 23000 so it is a bit hotter. I wouldn't try to chase the high pressure peak so much as just finding a good useable accurate load, leave the high pressure stuff for the revolver crowd. the 45 case is unsupported on the feed ramp and a case failure is not a nice event.

thanks for the reply.
i am not trying to go max load, but like you say a nice hot load, that is accurate.i have some +p brass, so was thinking i should play with a hotter load than my regular(4.6-4.7 gr of 700X). i have some speer gold dot 230gr coming, and am looking to find a good hot load with them.

"...have some +p brass..." That's stamped '+P' for the sole purpose of not mixing those loads with standard loads in the factory. Otherwise, the brass is the same as any other brass.
"...gold dot 230gr..." Work up the load the same way you did with the 700X. Hodgon has loads for 230 grain jacketed bullets on their site. Who made the bullet or its construction doesn't matter.
"...who wants to pay..." Shooting jacketed bullets gets expensive quickly too.

"...+P designation..." Nope. A case is a case. What's stamped on it doesn't matter. It's the firearm that get designated for +P or not.
