I would like to get another 45 Semi Auto but was wondering, what is considered to be 'The Pick Of The Litter' these days? One that I saw pic's of that 'looks' interesting is the Performance Center 945-1, comments? Also, how about the Kimber?

can't complain too much about Kimber... they work and look good.

I had a minor problem with the barrel on mine (asthetic - the rifling had ripples under the area where the lugs are cut), but on the plus side I wanted to order spare parts for my Kimber and it was not the headache I was expecting it to be to order from Kimber. Overall I am satisfied with Kimber. If I could go back in time though I'd get the Raptor or something pricier (hoping it was a little better quality).

I have a Kimber as well. As g37 said they look great. Mine shoots great as well. I never checked for the ripples in the barrel yet, maybe ill do that later tonight. But no problems yet.

If I were to go back and purchase it again, I would definately take a look at a STI Trojan too. I've heard good things about them

I have a STI Trojan in 40 s&w. I am totally impressed with the quality. performance and looks of the pistol. I've only put about a 1000 rounds through it but it has'nt jammed so far.

Pardon my lack of knowledge, but are the above mentioned,
STI Trogan
Raptor

models of Kimber? If so, are they available in .45 ACP?
STI is a "Brand" Trojan is a Model of the STI brand.

Kinmber is a Brand. Raptor is a model.

To get a real idea of "Pick of the Litter" you need to specify a price range.

Many makers have excellent models in prices from ~$1000 - 3500

Myself, I am hoping someone here buys a Tanfoglio Custom and reviews it over the next few months. More inline with my price range.

I have a Kimber Eclipse and a Glock 21. They're both great but if I could only own one I'd keep the Glock.

The Kimber Warrior looks very cool - I may trade my Eclipse on one someday.

I would not exclude a Les Baer, may fav being the Prowler III. The quality, fit and finish is considered to be one of the best. And speaking of accuracy tack drivers..

I do not believe that a Les Baer is for everyone, but if talking about best of breed , a Les Baer is a cut above

I think there is a distributor in Toronto .. Google Les Baer and see for yourself

For the money I would go with the Para SSP. Mine has been flawless and extremely accurate. For the price I don't think they can be beat.

Like an earlier postor said the Tanfoglio line of 1911's is interesting and look like a great buy. Awaiting some range reports.

Take Care

Do you have a price range in mind? The S&W PC 945 is about 2500 dollars. For that you could have BOTH the Para SSP and Glock 21 and still come ahead.
