This is really interesting stuff. Just out of curiosity, what does "Threat Level: Special Threat" mean in this case? Just a classification of the testing?

Yes, common example would be plates tested for M855 (green tip) and given a industry rating of level III+, and is not an rating covered by NIJ standards.

I've received a few enquiries regarding the BFD (Back Face Deformation) of our helmets. We send our helmets to NIJ certified labs to be tested, and are very proud of the results that we receive back, with the greatest BFD being only about 11.5mm at the front (.45APC 230gr. FMJ at 925fps, BFD<11.5mm all sides).

We also test for BFD against .357 Sig and .44 mag to ensure industry leading protection (vast majority only show/test for 9mm BFD), and will post the results we received from the lab separate from this bump.
