Call me nieve or just not thinking it through 45 ACP is the exact same as 45 Auto?

I don't mean lc or anything else just those 2.

Any real differences at all? Or advantages?

Thanks in advance

You are not being naive! It is always great to ask questions :) 45ACP is the same thing as 45 Auto. They are an automatic rimless cartridge that feeds through a magazine in a handgun. 1911's, glocks etc. There is however a cartridge that is 11.5x23R. It is a rimmed cartridge specifically designed to be fired in revolvers originally chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge.

The Brits made Webley pistols into a 45 ACP/Auto Rim as well, 45 ACP on moon clips due to the amount of 45 ACP ammo VS 455 Webley but the 45 Auto Rim worked in them too.
