What is the best 45 auto ammo to use in a 1911 pistol. Where is a good place to order it from? Same questions for 9mm for an M&P 9 and a Shadow

1911, best ammo, anything 230 gr round nose FMJ. Without a doubt, this will work in all 1911's that are in shooting condition. Most will shoot other types very well, some will need the feed ramp polished to do so, but 230 gr hard ball is what that gun was built for.

I guess the best in terms of functioning, meaning the least amount of FTF or FTE or any other shooting problems.

It seems to me that if you are experiencing FTF or FTE with any of the commonly available non-reloaded ammo, the problem is your gun not your ammo.

Something that you have reloaded by yourself, specific to the firearm that you are using!

I've found that every 1911 I've had that was chambered in 45ACP loved the 230gr TMJ Wolf remanufactured ammo.
