.45 auto loads with unique

so i have a .45 that i am reloading for with unique with 230 gr lead roundnose bullets. now lee book says 5.0 min and max for 230 lead
alliant powder says 5.8 with 230 lead rn
lyman says 5.5 to 7.3 with a 225 lead rn
not sure where to start?
what are your loads?

Speer #14 has 230gr Lead RN at 5.3-5.8gr 849fps Unique 1.270" OAL

I'm using W231 in mine so I dont have a Unique load, but somewhere in the 5.3-5.5 is where I would dare to start in my 1911.

I was using 5.5gr with 230gr bullets, and also used 6.0 gr

I am also 5.5gr of unique with hornaday 230gr fmjrn in my 1911. Shoots pretty good but they are just plinkers for me.

If ever in doubt go to the web site of the powder you are using and they will tell you what they deem safe.
