I have 1050 45acp brass. I don't reload so I have no idea what a fair asking price would be for this amount of brass. Most of it is once fired Winchester (Winclean) brass with small primers. Can anyone give me an idea of price so that I can post it in the EE? Thanks.

You are better off selling it as scrap metal.

Most folks who use progressive presses dispise the WinClean crap with the small primers, it is a PITA to reload as most 45ACP uses LARGE primers. I myself have several hundred rounds of WinClean that I will sent to the smelters.

The WinClean (NT) brass is the issue, because of the small primer pockets. It's perfectly usable, but because of the primers has to be reloaded separately from standard .45 brass. Obviously, if you're reloading with a progressive press set up with large primers you can't have the WinClean brass mixed in or you could have a major malfunction (i.e. a crushed primer that explodes).

So I would suggest sorting out the WinClean brass from the regular and selling it clearly as such. The market that reloads it is much smaller (most reloaders just don't use it to keep things simple), but you can probably get $40 for 1000. If you don't separate it I would think most reloaders would just ignore the brass as too much fuss and bother mixed.

Scrap metal? Poppycock..:runaway:
It is a simple matter of changing the primer feed/seating to small primer on the press.
Separating the brass is simple and one is probably inspecting their cases anyways, so its no big deal. 45 brass is experiencing a shortage these days as a lot of folks are hoarding. Small primer functions just as well, and is sought by the folks lucky enough to obtain lead free or non toxic primers(supposed to be OEM only), as well as the average Joe using SPP's. As for value. they are somewhat less than large primer but well above scrap unless you are independantly wealthy, lazy, have an endless supply or simply dont care;).
Have a look at the price of 1x fired brass, go a bit lower and post. You may be surprised. Now those guys reading your post and madly pm'ing you with dirt cheap offers are hating me:rolleyes:, but you need to know the truth.
Good luck:)

if you ever decide to get into reloading, , get something in 9mm - then , that way, if you ever decide to go 45acp, all you have to do is change dies and or shellholders- your 9mm priming set-up will handle both

As long as you clearly post that the brass is WinClean and needs small primers, I would think $7-8/100 plus shipping.
