I picked up some 325g WFN cast bullets from Missouri bullets.
Looking to sling some out of my henry lever gun.

Anyone have some recommendations for loads.
I have h110, imr 4227, unique and lilgun

Look up leverguns.com, they have a section on 45 Colt in rifles.

Just don't try making light loads with H110, that powder is for full throttle loads, use Unique if you want a plinker load.

Yes I have heard that h110 doesn’t like to be downloaded. Same with LilGun (which I have been using with 250g and 4
300g XTP

Hodgdon has load data for H110, lil'gun and 4227 and 325 grain bullets.

I load 315 grain cast bullets (Ranch Dog's 310 grain 45-70 bullet re-sized) for my ranch hand using H110 and Hodgdon's Ruger/TC/Freedom arms data, they fly out the muzzle at 1,500 fps. They'll definitely get your attention. I use Hodgdon's load data for 325 grain bullets. Watch the OAL if you use this data as it's for long nose bullets. My loads are 1.65" long.

I've tried a few loads with Lil'gun and get just a bit more velocity with less powder. I've also used IMR 4227 albeit only in .44 mag, velocities at maximum loads are lower than with the other 2 and recoil seems similar. I usually use 4227 with the starting load, still lots of oomph but a bit less punishing to shoot.
