Hi! I am gearing up to start reloading .45 colt for CAS. I need some help regarding bullet choice:
- I measured the cylinder on both my revolver (a Pietta and a Uberti) with a caliper and they fall in the .454 / .455 range.
- Last summer i shot .452, 255gr RNFP (Wolff ammo).

Should i go with .454 bullets or stick to the .452??

Thanks!

You could try .454" bullets, my Pietta uses .452" bullets very nicely.....only get a few .454s as they may expand the case enough on seating, that the loaded round will not fit nicely into the chamber. How accurate were the .452" and did they cause any leading? Did they have lots of good lube, and was the lube used up in the barrel or was there lots left on the slug found down range?

i stick with the .452" in my gun as it gives me the accuracy i want and no problems with leading . On some brass i have had problems seating .454 or .455 properly...are you casting or buying???
happy shooting
