45 Colt round ball loads

I don't own a 45 Long Colt so can't help with a recipe..have done one and two ball loads in .44 mag for T/Contender.
I added the weight of both round balls and IIRC it came to about 246 grains total.. then used Lower than Start data for a single 265 grain bullet and worked my way up. Did the same for two and three ball loads in .444 and 45/70 and as long as you start low and work up it should get you what you want.

Howdy ,one of the older speer reloading books had round ball loads .

From Speer 1979 edition useing a (1) " .454 " 141 gr. round ball in a .45 Colt single action.

There are no start nor max loads.... just one load for each type of powder.

IMR 700X.. 4.0 gr ..544 F.p. second
Bullseye.... 3.2 gr...553
Red dot.... 3.2 gr...568
Unique......4.5 gr....632
SR4756.....5.0 gr...565
SR7625.....4.5 gr...556

The problem i had with RB in my fixed sight .45 Colt was the very diff. POI, It made those RB loads as not useable because they impacted so low.
