Hi folks
Just a question, I have been looking for a supply of .45 Colt, not much around, western had bulk for a reasonable price listed but like everywhere I looked, Out of Stock! Does anyone know where I can access some?
Cheers Bob

For most of the old revolver calibers, the best place to find it is in your reloading press.

The market for these calibers is small enough to begin with, and each of us who have already turned to rolling our own shrinks the commercial market further.

And when it's a gun that doesn't eject its spent brass all over the landscape it's really easy to take home and clean and load it again.

Yes ,you could buy the equipment and components to make 500 rounds ,for the same cost as buying 500 factory rounds. Give or take a few bucks.
After the first 500 the cost will be 30 cents a rnd.

I plan on reloading for .45 colt and others but won't have the gear set up until fall so figured I would get started with a couple boxes to play with and reuse the brass!

When I first bought my Rossi 92 a few years ago I bought some Wolfe re-manufactured ammo. I purchased it to get the brass. if I remember correctly less than 30 bucks for 50. Great shooting ammo and I think the brass was brand new Starline. I was a happy camper and am still reloading it. A fun cartridge to reload and shoot. Cast my own bullets as well so costs are very reasonable. My Rossi is pre-safety - another bonus in my mind!!

I was thinking the same thing and did see wolfelisted but everyone I checked are out of all brands of .45 colt . I will be ordering brass and bullets too, likely get the bullets from jet hunter as I need to order some for other old cartridges too!
In the meantime I also have a .45acp cylinder that came with my Cimarron 1875 outlaw, and have lots of ammo in that cartridge size!

Email wolf and Western Metals. Maybe they have a batch coming up? When I bought my SRH Toklat I thought I could maybe save some money buying factory .45C ammo for practice... Once I saw the prices I had my 650 conversion and components on the way immediately.

Reloading is the way to go if you want to shoot any amount. I cast my own so it gets even cheaper. If I didn’t reload some guns wouldn’t be shot very often due to the price of ammunition. With current shortages in stores I am glad I control my own ammunition supply.

Cabela's has Herter's in store and online.
.45 Colt 230 Grain Lead RN/FP 50 Rounds
$69.99 (free shipping over $149)

I couldn’t find any 45colt in bc.
So I stocked up on components.
Then found hornady critical defense at Cambodian tire for 42$ for 20rounds.

Reloading is the answer.
Just stock up when you can.
