If you have data using these products & wanna share...

Since it is a New Vaquero, your loads are pretty much limited to standard loads. High power loads using 2400 and 4227 are probably not good choices. You are probably best off with the Bullseye and Herco, and with some cast or swaged bullets. Have you checked the Hogdon reloading site?

Any load for standard .45 Colt out of any recent manual for the bullets you name will do just fine. Muck about trying to get a load to strike near point of aim, at a believable distance i.e. 25m. Have fun. The ,45 Colt is a joy to shoot.

Hotting it up is likely not a starter for a Vaquero, and even if it were, there really is no point to it. .45 Colt, with a big fat 250 grain, reasonable flat bullet is just fine for any use you maight imagine, including punching big round cutouts in paper!

I hate guys who don't answer the question and just say use something else, but if you stick with those powders, you'll likely have to depend on loads not found in load manuals.

You need to stick to under 15K psi and CUP in that gun.

2400 and IMR4227 are probably too slow to work reliably at those pressures.

Bullseye and Herco can work well, so you'll want to find load data for powders slightly slower than them and substitute - use data in the middle of the range listed for that slower powder.

Or, just buy a pound of something like HP-38 (or 231), Titegroup, or Trail Boss. There are lots of loads available for those powders for lots of chamberings of low pressure loads intended for handguns.

Of the powders listed, Herco is your best bet. Try 7.0 to 8.0 in 0.4 gr increments and see what shoots best (and to point of aim).

See if you can find a box of 250 g lead bullets. Then the Bullseye would be real good. Try 5.5 to 7.0 in 0.4 gr increments.

thanks guys
I have no need to HOT ROD this gun , I have a 629 44mag for that.
As I mentioned , I intend on finding / making some cast bullets for it, in the meantime I have these, so why not kill some paper !

I use 12.0 gr of Blue Dot in my Rossi baby carbine (12' barrel) and get good accuracy out to 80 yds.
with 250gr. LSWC boolits. This load is easy on the brass, and no worries about pressure levels.
I keep the powder in place with a pinch of kapok filler for consistency.:)
