The 45 days to process my RPAL just past yesterday on the 19th, myself and my references were contacted about a month ago and every time I check the status online I get the "your application has completed initial processing blah blah blah". My question is should I bother calling Monday and politely ask them what the delay is about? or should I wait a some more before calling? I really don't want to piss them off and have them hold my application for months on
end for no good reason.

opinions are appreciated.

call them and ask my licence was completed at the CFC and was not forwarded to the CFO in my province. It seemed like the info is sent electronically, someone probably just forgot to hit send.

After the call two days later it was approved and in the mail.

Never hurts to ask.

BTW I was getting the same message as you and timeline was the same.

I always call. If everything is ok and it just needs the rubber stamp they often do it on the spot. Despite what you read, the people at the cfo don't bite the heads off babies. They have always been polite and helpful. Unfortunately they also have to follow rules and policies. The people on the phones don't make the policies and while you may come across someone with anti gun sentiments I haven't found it to be the case. The biggest frustration is that the provinces have a fair bit of leeway setting policy and that it varies wildly from province.

Just call the cfc number and follow the prompts, unfortunately it sometimes takes a while to get thru. If you can phone mid morning, the wait time seems to be less around then.

So I called the CFC earlier this morning and the lady instantly issued my licence and I should have it in 2 weeks or less. :dancingbanana:
