Just getting started in Cowboy Action and was wondering about what calibre to go with. I shot the 45 with light loads and really liked it. What are your thoughts/ experiences. I will probably be reloading.

I own pairs of "Original" Vaqueros in .357, .44 mag & .45LC. My choice is generally the pair that are the most accurate. In my case its the .44's and my rifle is a Uberti M73 Carbine in .45LC. All my .44 has a blue felt marker stripe across the base, my .45 LC has a red stripe. Never got the wrong ammo in the wrong gun.
 
If you decide to go with 2 calibers, buy yourself a loading block or a loading strip to carry your stage ammo to the loading table. When you have loaded you can just shove it in your back pocket. Nothing more frustrating than seeing someone trying to juggle a rifle, a shotgun and 2 boxes of ammo at the loading table.
