.45 Lee Enfield

Well, that looks kind of fun!

Oh yeah! :D

I do think that there would be a sufficiently large market to justify either the import of these kits, or the manufacture of them in this country. No lower cost .45 barrel blanks available here, but if blanks were imported from the US, at least the value added machine work could be done here.
Making the magazine adapter is probably the most challenging part of the whole kit.

I agree with you. I think it would be nice if some of these kits were either made up here or imported. Correct me if I am wrong, but there should not be a problem getting a export permit from the states right? It is not machine gun parts or anything, just a barrel for a bolt action rifle.

I have another question for you guys. Does the differences in trigger and parts between the No. 4 Mk 1 and Mk 2 make a whole lot of difference in accruracy? The reason I ask is because Mk 1 sporters are plentiful and easy to come by, but I don't want to go the cheaper route if I am going to be dissappointed later. I have very little experience with the differences between the two. Thanks in advance,

Logan

If you're not doing some kind of precision target shooting, the difference would be somewhat minimal. Find the best deal you can on any No 4 sporter. Make sure you can actually get the kit first though.

I had considered a Rhinelands Arms kit after reading the first conversion at surplus rifle and this new kit sounds interesting too.

I look forward to it being imported, should be a fun thing to do to a old workhorse like the Enfield.

I am making one as well. Got the bubba enfield in a couple weeks ago and now need to find a place that has a 45 cal bbl

Well I think there is quite a few people who want to make one. I would be interested in at least one kit. Does anyone want to get approval for a group buy and set the whole thing up? I have way too much going on right now. Maybe this summer I will have more time, once this semester is over.

Just my $0.02,
Logan
