I have a tone of what looks like small pistol primers in .45acp brass. I'm assuming I'm G2G with using small pistol primers in this brass. Anyhting I shold watch for? Thanx

Might also be crimped primers. You'll need to chamfer that crimp off before repriming. If that sounds like too much work, I'll gladly pay shipping to, er, dispose of them for you.

Likely came from Non-toxic loadings, don't worry, regular ol' toxic primers work just fine in them. As Canuck223 says, keep them separate from the large primer stuff, especially if you use a progressive press, that'd be a hassle to have the wrong size primers for the brass.

Thanx for the info guys. Thats great help. They are just regular primers by the looks of them, ive already de-capped all of them. I only run a single stage press so keeping an eye on them is pretty easy.:D

If repriming is difficult, then you'll need to clean up the pockets. Just toss the chamfer tool in the drill, quick little touch is all you'll need. Or you could use a fancy Primer Pocket Swager, but that's something most of us don't happen to just have lying around, and unless you had a LOT, or a steady supply of military 5.56/7.62, it's not really a justifiable cost.

Is it Winchester brass ? Been a bunch of Winclean around for yonks, probably what it is if its Winchester.

Small pistol magnum?

not necessary- the 45 is a low psi cartridge- only about 19k or so top end- you don't need magnums unless it's a relatively slow powder with heavy - in small pistol it's a marketing GIMMICK- the only place i know if is heavier 357 mag loads
