45 super - which 1911 to build from?

As mich as I think a norc is good value, I really don't want to mess with my next 1911 much other than fitting a slide stop/bushing and barrel.
The longslide sam looks sweet, and as a sam owner, I know that they're fitted and finished well. The cast frame might be an issue though.

Other ideas? Colt? S&w? Trying not to break the bank on price.

I used the cheapest of the cheap Norcs to build my 460 Rowland.

Clark Guns said the Norc had the right steel (some brands don't) and by fitting the new barrel and bushing, the gun became more accurate.
 
Norinco is one of the brands that Rowland recommends for their conversion kits. Rough around the edges but good steel.
Auto Ordinance is one of the brands that Rowland specifically recommends NOT using with their conversion kits.
 
I had one built from a Para P14-45, years ago. Given that Paras aren't great to start with, it seemed woth it to turn it into something cool! I just use my HK45, now. Seems to run Super with no issues. If I was to go it again with a 1911, I'd probably go with a Norinco.



 
I run a Norc as my 45-08 BD carry gun. Got it on the EE already set up to run 45-08 and have done my own stoning and polishing to get the thing running super smooth n slick. Shoot mostly hot loaded 45ACP in the pistol with the slide spring swapped for a lighter one the seller passed along with the gun.
