What do people think of .45 super? It is my understanding that you would need to modify a "regular" 45 to handle this load? Ex. - stronger barrel.

Any information on this would be appreciated. To me this seems like the perfect calibre.

Just buy the brass and a recoil spring and you are off to the races!

I see you have a Ruger KP345. It can handle it nicely (stronger recoil spring recommended though) - See 'Wolf Gunsprings' as they ship to Canada. :)

No new barrel is required for .45Super as all dimensions are identical to .45ACP brass.

Again, stronger recoil spring is all that is recommended. (*Aftermarket barrel for Glocks for the tighter chamber is recommended*)

EnjoY!

So you think my little faithfull P345 can handle it eh? That would save me some money! Thanks, I think I'll make my P345 into a SUPER P345! ;)

Stronger recoil and firing pin springs were recommended on the 1911 45 Super conversion. I used the 24 pound Wolff spring, so that might get you started using the Super-Ruger! I also utilized cut-down 45 Win Mag brass.

see you there

Sadly, I have to miss again!!! Can't imagine it's going to get much better when the new baby arrives! Balancing time between family and our beloved sport is getting harder and harder. I am squeezing in some target practice tomorrow at the club. Been watching a few Todd Jarrett training vids and going to try a couple of new things. :(

Check out 45-08 from Armco as well. A 20lb recoil spring is all you need to launch 200g SWC's up to 1500fps! I played around with this load in a Para-ord and it really was a gas!:)
