I know this has been beaten to death on other forums but just curious if there is anyone with wisdom on this unicorn of a cartirage. I bought a ruger American ranch in 450 on sale, I am starting to regret it now I can not find any brass or brass to convert for a reasonable price. Just curious if there any other cases that can be converted to fill the hungry bore? Or should I have saved my lunch money a little longer and waited on a 45-70... the 50$/ box of 20 hornady is awfully steep. Any help or wisdom is appreciated.
 
I found some Hornady brass at my local gunshop, and have successfully reloaded for the 450 using hornady FTX bullets. Im also in the experimental stage of using cheap gas checked bullets, but have not had the opportunity to test them yet.

its an awesome calibre to shoot, don't give up.

Buy new cases and they'll last a long time if you do your part.

Your local should be able to order everything you need......you might need to wait a few weeks for it to come in.....but its worth it.
 
Rusty wood has new star line 116$/100 I am just going to buck up the next time I go down there. I read somewhere someone was expanding 308 cases... I doubt it worked out very well though.
