According to the hornady manual the max case length is 2.100 inches and max col is 2.550, except for the 325 grain ftx bullet which has a max case length of of 2.040 and max col length of 2.590 because its a pointier bullet, which is .040 more than the max for the cartridge family

I have a browning blr which is magazine fed, can I have bullets that stick out past those max COLs? Also, I have 10 boxes of 325 grain factory ammo with the shorter case, can I reload the other bullets that call for longer case length?

The factory 325 grail lever evolution claims 2225 fps, I chronied it at 2125-2150, but in the hornady manual nothing goes faster than 2100fps, what would the factory load consist of? I had a full load of Hodgson 4198 and didn't hit 2000fps, do they have a proprietary powder?

If the cartridge fits in your magazine and chambers properly, your COAL is fine. If you need to crimp them then you would want to seat to the cannalure which could reduce COAL and increase pressure. Since the BLR's have box mags instead of tube mags a heavy crimp isn't necessarily required.

You can load the shorter cases with other bullets if your COAL (and thus available internal volume) remains the same. If you seat shorter, the pressure increases. At starting loads you may still be okay, I can't say for sure.

Hornady LeveRevolution ammo uses LeveRevoltion powder for some of the cartridges but a proprietary blend not available to the public for others. I don't know about 450 Marlin but since it's so close to 45-70 and it does not have load data using LeveRevolution powder I would guess the 450 has the same deal.
