450 Marlin loaders - 14 twist

358/375 Ruger? Wow. What kind of muzzle velocity on that monster? Who do you get to do your customs / reamers etc. Are they taking new business

I buy my reamers from PT&G, Dies from Redding Custom shop, or sometimes from John Whidden. The gunsmithing on the last couple builds has been done by Peter Rempel, through Creekside Gun Shop, in Wainfleet, ON, because Rob Wise retired, and Steve Holburn retired before him... we are losing many of great smith's to aging. The .358-375 Ruger gets 3140 fps from a 24" barrel with 225 Accubonds over RL-17. The barrels are all from Bob Jury.

Do you rent your reamers? I dont know anything about them. Or is it better to buy your own for each wildcat? How did you decide headspacing, oal cartridge etc? Ptg sets all that up? Thx for the info. I think im going to reach out to those folks -358/375 is nice. Maybe a 338/375.

Did you ever consider putting sights on your guns

I buy my reamers... that way I know they are sharp and straight... I like a clean chamber... PT&G can set up the finish reamer any way you want for throat etc... I generally specify, exactly what I want... but peruse their finish reamer inventory, they have thousands, and you will likely find what you are looking for. Whidden can build the dies right off of PTG's blueprints if you are doing a new wildcat... PT&G and Whidden did my 7.62X57 HC. Headspacing is set by the gunsmith when he chambers the barrel, you can buy "go/no go" gauges with your pilot reamer, but I generally build 3 dummy rounds to the exact specs I will use with the rifle to set headspace. As for sights, I have a few sets of Ruger OEM sights in my shop, but have not bothered on Stainless Guns... I have many blued rifles with iron sights.
