.452 ok for loading .45 auto?

I was looking at some lead bullets marked .452 and was wondering if they would be ok for cheap range rounds. I thing the price on them was $80/1000.

It's probably perfect for .45 Auto loading.

.451" is the size usually used for jacketed bullets, and cast is usually .001 or .002" larger. This really has to do with the groove diameter of your actual barrel, but without measuring it .452" would be pretty standard for lead bullets for your calibre.

Wolf bullet has hard cast 180gr SWC listed on their website, your choice of either .450, .451 or .452 (standard if you dotn specify required diam) for 81$/1000

It is a lovely bullet to work with (if you like cast of course)

As others have already said, .452 is the regular and most common size for cast lead bullets for .45 acp. It's actually hard to find any other size sold commercially. The style or shape of them may affect how smoothly they work. Some 1911s for example don't like lead wadcutters or flat nosed styles as much as the basic round nose. You can't go wrong with good ol' 230 grain .452 lead round nosed bullets. It's what these things were originally designed to shoot.

I will look again but I think they were round nose. I seen them at wholesale sports in calgary.

My bad, thet were 230gr flatnose and there was a 500 pack.
