how much do the heavy loads recoil in a '92? The '92 is a very light gun for near 45-70 type loads.

I can say that it kicks way more than my SKS or similar to my friend's 7mm mauser (although this one is a very heavy rifle)

I've been shooting 300g bulltes with 29g of H100, accuracy is not bad, the sights the came with the rifle are not that good, I've just had them replaced but did not test yet.

If i cannot do it in my basement, then it will be hard, with 2 little kids at home I cannot do it in the backyard, specially now that the older just learned how to open the sliding door.

I've heard of another method that is basically pressing a piece of lead tube in the shape you want and then sizing it. I believe it is called swaging or something like it, but all my google searches resulted in suppliers in the US only.

Anyone ever heard about it?

Swaging is not cheap, nor can you make hard bullets. Also, hire a babysitter for a couple hours

If you get a range-hood with good fans and exhaust on the roof you're good to cast in the basement.
Swagging is an option. Is buying from the states such a problem? There must be some mailboxes south of the border you can use. Swagged bullets are soft but they can be heat treated to higher hardness.

Pretty sharp with full powered loads. I've read (some publication somewhere...) the Puma 92 in .454 recoils like a 338 win mag in a "normal" bolt action rifle and that seems about right to me.

We are talking about loads that meet or slightly exceed factory 45-70 here, and in a very light rifle.

I tried some factory loads in a 16" barrel Puma (300gr @ ~2000fps) and I wouldn't say it kicked as hard as my .338 Win Mag. It was very snappy, but didn't push hard like the .338 does. It certainly got my attention, though.
