454 casull

Raging bull was the first ever DA/SA revolver in .454...I have one in .44mag and it has been great

but you can't hunt with a handgun in Canada!

Before you decide on anything go find a Freedom Arms to handle. The workmanship is outstanding.
+1!!!
There's a good reason there's a long waiting list from that factory. (FYI, it's a completely different company)

The epitome of quality is definitely the Freedom Arms SA revolver; strong as a tank with the precision of a swiss watch....for target and hunting that would be my choice.
For bear defence carry a DA is my choice, more precisely the Ruger SRH which is as strong as a tank with the precision or a Timex or Casio :) but it will take everything I throw at it and keep wanting more.
The S&W X-frame is just too big to be practical for wild animal carry IMO. I have no opinion on the Taurus since I have no experience with one.

I can't add anything to this...:D

and raging bull is good ??
As I said I have one in .44mag. It has a great trigger, nice finish, accurate, and just looks awesome in stainless! I had mine for over a year now and had zero problems with it. I’ve never been a huge revolver fan but I just had to have this one. :) Oh and it seems to do a good job impressing strippers… ;)

In .454 they come in 5, 6.5 and 8in barrels. 5in or 6.5 in stainless would be my pick

edit: I just noticed there is a picture of a Raging Bull in your avator, looks like you allready know what you want.

I've used a pile of different revolvers in this round. The Freedom Arms is far and away the best. But the others are all pretty good now too. I recently bought a Uberti Tornado with 7 1/2" barrel and adjustable sights. It's a copy of the FA. It's not quite up to the FA Casull, but it's half the money and 90% of the gun.
