.454 loads too light?

Considering that it's well known that H110/win296 does not react well to lighter loads I would suggest you use those powders for the fire breathing boomer loads and choose a more suitable powder for your gentler plinking loads.
When I had my 460S&W I loaded 45LC, 454, and 460 using H110 but they were always in the top half of the charge range. As has already been mentioned, I always referenced from more than one book as well as the Hodgdon site. Reloading manuals are cheap (less than the cost of 100 bullets usually) so I bought a new Hornady and a new Nosler book. Sierra and Nosler also post data on their site so you can save a little cash if you bookmark them but as was mentioned it's nice to have a book or two open on the table in front of you while comparing load data from different sources.

Good luck, be safe.
