Right again. Imported into the US by Legacy Sports. A few different models (blue/stainless etc) but have not seen in Canada as yet. Smokin' FX brought in a couple last year I believe and they went quickly. You're looking at an $800+ gun by the time all is in. You can often find them on gunbroker.com or go to legacy website.

I wonder why you'd pay $800 when you could get a Guide Gun in 45-70 for $600 and have a way easier time finding factory ammo all the while getting better performance?

there is a reason why people choose a well made levergun like the marlin over a Puma. and a balistically superior round like the .45-70 over the .454

Mabe look for one of the marlins in .480ruger or .44mag? :D

casull ammo is $$$$$$$ and if you hand load there can be only one: the .45-70
 
I can retail a Puma in 454 for about $659. so it can be cheaper than a Marlin. The shorter cartridge gives up a little to the 45-70, but it also cycles through the action faster, and the magazine can hold more of them. Factory ammo is pretty close to 45-70 in price, and reloading is easier in my opinion as the case capacity is smaller and low end loads still fill a substantial amount of the case.
I'm not sure it offers a great advantage over the same gun in 44 mag, but it isn't as bad as some have indicated either.

I don't stock but can order in. Probably about 3-4 months to delivery, depending on model.
 
Having a rifle in .454 Casull makes perfect sense. A good excuse for having these .454 loads laying around the cabin, truck, range bag etc.
 
Caldwells in North Vancouver are the Canadian importers for Legacy Sports International, Puma rifles.

I had a s/s 20" barreled 454 Casull on order through Reliable in Vancouver but ended up cancelling the order to donate the money to the RFOCBC and the CPC party during the election instead.

I legally carry my Ruger SRH 454 Casull in remote areas with an ATC permit and having a Puma 92 would be great but I also have a Marlin 1895GS 45-70 so other than the convenience of only having to take one type of bullets with me the Puma 92 454 Casull just can't compare to the performance of the 45-70 in a Marlin.

But having a 454 Casull rifle wouldn't be a need it is a want. It is lighter as well as it holds far more bullets in the mag tube. One thing that I have heard a lot about on different forums that have talked about the Puma 92 is that you need to get the fore end and the butt stock glass bedded to prevent them from splitting.
 
A Buddy of mine has one, it's the stainless one with the Black stocks. It also came with some kinda fibre optic sights(glow bead type?)

Why ? he already has several Freedom Arms Casull Revolvers and wanted a Companion so they don't get lonely in the safe I guess ;)
Silly comparing a rifle cartridge with a Handgun round but if one wants a Serious little levergun made to cycle the shorter handgun rounds this one is tough to beat.
FWIW I have owned ALOT of 94 Marlins(357's,44's,45's) and they don't even come close to the quality I've seen in the New Puma 92's IMO.

It's a very light compact little package and is a Great looking Rifle in a Neat Cartridge, simple as that :)
