A friend just inherited a .455 Webley pistol. He can't find ammo anywhere. Where can he get some, preferably in Ottawa area?

Even if he does find some it's not going to be cheap. If he is looking at shooting it even fairly often then it would be well worth his getting into reloading to cut the cost down.

Canada Ammo had a bunch..Buy $100 worth and the shipping is free

*** never mind...I see its now showing sold out ***

I 'roll' my own. Hornady brass and the bullet, very much like the one circled, I get from a friend locally. The info was scanned from an old copy I have of the 1st Edition of the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook.

To obtain loaded ammo, it might be worth your while to contact a site sponsor listed at the top of the CGN website home page, Henry at Budget Shooter Supply. He's come through for me on a number of occasions on some of the harder to find items.

I see boxes of Fiocchi .455 Webley come up fairly frequently in Canadian stores. Priced around $50.00 per 50 cartridges.

Local gunshow on the weekend a vendor had boxes of NIB Fiocchi .455 for $65 per box!

As JP said above, and IMHO way better to "roll your own".

I used to shoot .455 Webley out of an old Colt New Service chambered in .455 Eley, I got my ammo from Epps. Don't remember how much per box but around $50-60 sounds right.

New brass can be bought and the mould for the right bullets as well. I use 3.6grs of Unique behind a 265-280 gr soft lead hollow based bullet.

Thanks for the replies. I don't think he's the reloading type. He only got his RPAL so he could inherit this one revolver. When I find some ammo he'll let me shoot it. Maybe I'll let him go first.
