Hi
First time shooting the rifle, having some ejection issue, any fix or recommendations?, rifle shoots great accuracy wise, 0.6” @100 with SK Std plus, its a shame its not that reliable at present, hope to find a remedy. Thanks

My 457 does the same. It will eject spent cases from higher end ammo, but won’t eject cheaper end ammo. It won’t eject hardly any unfired ammo. I know your frustration, following along to hear what folks have done to fix the issue.

I can’t sleep tonight without trying, so I disassembled the bolt clean especially the extractor and add tension by bending a little to the extractor spring that holds it in place to the bolt body, tried loading a dummy round and it seems that it’s throwing the round at 4:00 with gusto at around 5 feet, compared previously at 2:00 o’clock and 1-2 feet, hope it solves the problem. Long wait till the next weekend., lol

I think they are known for the last round in magazine doesn't eject well, but the first 9 rounds are usually quite reliable as 22lr bolt guns go.

I have a 457 that had the same issue. I dropped the bolt in an ultrasonic cleaner for 20 minutes, then 10 minutes in a jar of gun lube in the ultrasonic.

Went through an evening at the range then an entire ORPS match today with zero issues (previously I had an extraction issue every ~3rd mag).

YMMV…but so far so good.

If you're regularly shooting five-shot 0.6" groups at 100 yards with SK Standard Plus, don't touch anything on the rifle. That's incredible.

Only tried 2 5 shot groups, so its not the real picture yet, will take care first of the extraction issue, the SK Rifle Long range is not bad at all, 1”moa, waiting to try the SK Rifle Match once available

My 457 MTR refuses to eject the last round of any magazine I have. Took all my mags (5 and 10rd, both metal and poly) apart to make sure the springs and followers were in correctly, and everything was right. Bought a new holder and spring from Wolverine, swapped them last night, and it didn't help. Shot 150rds and all but one mag left the spent round sitting perfectly on top of the magazine follower. If Wolverine had any extractors in stock I would have swapped that at the same time, but they were sold out.
Ejection is super inconsistent, some rounds dribble out, some go 5ft. And it varies from about 1:30 to 4 o'clock. My 455 has none of these issues.
I've tried SK rifle match, Eley match, R50, Tenex, CCI SV, CCI greentag and Federal match, every single one fails to eject on the last round. The other 4 or 9 rounds in the mag have never failed to eject.
There must be a fix that doesn't involve the EE and buying a Tikka t1x. Very curious to see if anyone has figured this out.

Tried to send email to CZ USA, always Error every time, so who handles repairs or warranty in Canada, I was debating before either get the Tikka and 457, guess flipped the wrong coin, as mentioned above, cleaned the bolt completely and it showed some improvement, but only actual shooting will tell this weekend.

Is the extractor/cartridge guide in right? On mine, they are were reversed from the factory so was it trying to extract/eject in which it would sort of do, but leave the odd sitting on top of the magazine. Once I figured that out I've been flawless all the way through the magazine.

Both are on the correct placement, now that I cleaned and add more tension on the spring its ejecting okay so far with dummy, but have to test it in actual shooting,, was also observed that the extractor hook is flat, in other forums suggest to add a little concave under the hook, but will try it first with my own fixed

I've owned a total of three CZ457s and have experienced this issue. One of the three,on occasion, would not eject the last spent casing from a certain magazine. I've since parted ways with my CZs and have moved to T1Xs a slightly better rifle overall in my opinion.

Me too having some second thoughts of these purchased, unfortunately have the XRS chassis already, Scope base, bolt handle, hope its not a lost case, will test fire again, if not Wolverine the warranty center already sent me the RMR for service.

Did shoot again today, problem persist even after all the cleaning, so I guess will need to be sent to Wolverine for warranty work, now have some second thoughts about this rifle, and just get a T1X, the XRS chassis might be for sale too, bolt handle and mount, such a waste since the rifle is shooting great accuracy, btw did try LApua Center X, shoots amazing., but all fired cases doesn’t eject.

That's too bad, my 457 started a bit rough but since I got the extractor/guide thing figured out it's been 100% flawless for me. Good luck in your search and I wouldn't give up on your 457 yet!

Just to be clear, what side should the ejector be on these rifles?
Mine is on the right side (same side as bolt handle), same configuration as my 455 bolt. The "dull" holder is on the left, opposite side as the bolt handle.

The ejector is the top of the magazine spacer at the rear, the extractor/cartridge guide varies depending on the hand. The extractor should be on the bolt handle side of the bolt and guide on the inside of the action. CZ has assembly drawings on their website which note orientation.
