457 22lr ejection issue

I didn't take pics, as I was in a mad hurry to get it together to get to the range. But I did stack the two on top of each other just for a quick comparison and they had slightly different profiles. And it did look like the 452 extractor was slightly curved/angled under the hook, the 457 looked straight. The body was slightly different as well.
Not at all scientific, but they weren't exactly the same.
I've put a few hundred more rounds downrange with the 457, perfect extraction/ejection. That older extractor was the solution for mine.

Hi
If this is a brand new rifle , then you can sometimes expect to have issues like u r having. You have to remember the higher the quality the rifle the tighter the tolerances they r built to. So they sometimes require a longer break in time to loosen up and adjust. You don't get the accuracy that you r stating you have now with a loose action and chamber. You will have to find what works and shoots best out of your 457. Enjoy the fun of finding what works best.

Hi, sometimes with your new rifle, the tolerances are tight that it might take numerous rounds before everything starts to loosen up a bit. Try taking your bolt apart and give a through cleaning and then a lite lubrication also will help

The issue is not being tight, but the opposite, ( extractor) the 457 uses the same bolt for 22 snd 17hmr and both caliber are not exactly the same. They are hoping that spring will do the trick holding the brass, unfortunately it’s not the case . As mentioned from my above comment, I did filed the holder and extractor from the inside to bring it closer to the bolt, more tension now on the fired case and extracting on the last round..Wolverine will be sending a new Holder and Extractor , but I was warned that it might take months, even six depending from CZ.

I tried the same fix for my MTR, I took some inside material off the inside of the extractor and sharpened it a little too. Still wouldn't work 100% for me, ended up up replacing the extractor, holder and spring, worked flawlessly after.

That's too bad, my 457 started a bit rough but since I got the extractor/guide thing figured out it's been 100% flawless for me. Good luck in your search and I wouldn't give up on your 457 yet!
For every complainer, there are over a dozen people with rifles that work perfect. Nobody ever talks about their well functioning gun, but is interested in fixing their faulty one, so they complain. My new 457 works flawlessly, as do most of them.

Right on! Recently got a new 457 Varmint .22LR. This thing is stupid accurate & functions flawlessly with whatever you feed it, oh and did I mention the great fully adjustable trigger and the fact that it looks and fits as good as it shoots. Definitely on the "Never Sell List".
