Tenda now sells some SK ammo - Standard Plus, Pistol Match and Flatnose Basic. Enjoyed a Christmas week at the cabin shooting all day long and tested each ammo out of my 457 MDT. The CCI SV will be my go-to plinking round but of the SK ammo the Pistol Match came out on top with the Flatnose a close second followed by Standard Plus. I just came back from Tenda and bought a few thousand rounds of the Pistol Match to keep aside when the need arises.

Using my FX Radar these are the results from my 16" barrel; Pistol Match averaged 1050 fps, Standard Plus averaged 1084 fps and the Flatnose Basic averaged 1084 fps.

For what's it worth and hope this helps other CZ 457 owners find decent ammo for their rifle. The conditions where not perfect during my test but good enough to satisfy my test findings. Distances were 25 yards, 50 yards, 67 yards and 100 yards.

Set up was a front bipod and rear bag. Measured edge to edge and minus 0.223"

Thanks for sharing. I recently a 457 MTR and am currently experimenting with ammo to see what works best for me. Haven’t tried any SK yet, maybe that will be next.

TheROC, just out of curiosity, were you doing anything to your barrel between shooting different types of ammo?

I just pushed a few dry patches between the brands. Then shot about 20 fouling rounds before testing for groups.

I redid the crown with a crown lapping tool from Brownells
My 25 yard groups with Pistol Match, five groups, five shots each, shrunk down to average 0.146". If the winds are calm going to try again with the PM, Std Plus and the FN.

Okay that sounds like a good method. I’m going to start ammo testing my 457 LRP on Saturday and trying to establish a game plan so I can be most efficient while shooting. Have you experimented at all with any Lapua or Eley ammunition yet? So far I’ve seen a few people mentioning that some of SK’s offerings shoot well out of their 457s but I’m curious about some of Lapua’s and eley’s products.

My rifles did not like the Eley Club, Match or the expensive Tenex.

My 457 seems to like the SK PM, Std Plus and FN.

CCI SV are ok for plinking out of my 457. I would not use them for a PSR match.

Not yet... Would like too. Hoping Tenda will stock then as it will be a local pick-up. If not then it'll be online delivery purchase.

Finally got my 16 inch MTR to the range and tried some SK long range. Could only do 25 yards but it did 3 groups out of 5 under .20, 5 shot groups. Then my parallex adjustment broke so that prevented 50 yards. Picked up some of the SK ammo you tried and will use that once I get a scope.
