457 pic rail

Ya it's the cz dovetail to pic rail. Figured it would have been nicer being from them.
Ya something is not right then (with install or manufacturing). I have an Area 419 dovetail to picantinny rail and it mates together perfectly.

I would have shared you logic, that I expected more buying their branded item if it's a manufacturer defect.

I have a rail similar to the 419 and it's perfect, wanted a lower one for my second 457 and found one of these. It's not very good. Just wanted to see if anyone had one that could compare

The Area 419 rail is clamped down from the side with screws. The CZ one (per what I can see online) is clamped down from the top? Are the screws torqued down too tight, causing the whole rail to pop up?

No. I Torqued them to spec. Torque spec printed on the rail, also went to the cz YouTube channel to check what they show. Must just be a bad piece of kit.

MDT rail is my go-to; area 419 are known for their screws stripping, they are taller because they have a uselss level in the back that you cant see with a scope installed, MDT have a recoil lug and they are less money. I am running one on my 455; no improvements to be made. It is that good.Screenshot 2025-11-26 060347.jpg

I have something similar on my other 457, a varmint. Just thought I'd try the cz one for my American. Turns out the rail from cz is kinda junk.

Perhaps the OP has figured things out. For other readers, perhaps the problem is that the rail has a gap between its bottom and the receiver's 11mm dovetails. See the OP's image below, where the red lines indicate.

If that's the issue, then there's nothing wrong. When the grub screws are tightened to fasten the rail to the rifle they "pull" the rail up to keep it in place.

That is one piss-poor design.

" . . . One of the most common hurdles for CZ owners is determining which rail they have. CZ transitioned between European (11mm) and American (3/8") standards depending on the model and production year. . . "
