I should just buy their manual because its all i load now for bullets but i will give it a try here.
Anyone have any load data for a 458 lott shooting 400 gr a frames? Hornady cases. 24 inch barrelled no1. I will work up to 500 grainers later, its not going to africa until 2019.

81 grains of varget got a consistant 2320 fps. At 82 seated to the crimp groove it was a compressed load and velocity improved to 2390. 82.5 and 83 velocities lowered and became erratic. Try 4895 next i guess.

I've adapted .458 Lott Barnes load data for other bullet brands. Re7 is a good powder in my rifle. I load the 300gr TSX or 300gr HP at 2500 fps MV, or the 400gr FNSP Speer at 1350 fps. Very good accuracy. My rifle has a 23" barrel.

.458 Lott custom Sako AV with Leupold VX-3 1.5-5x20mm

Seated bullets at two different depths because i shoot a no1 si i can go long if i wish. Seated with the case at the top of the crimp groove 80gr of re7 gave the best velocity at 2550 but was a slightly compressed load. There was some powder staining near the case mouth for a 1/4 inch. Seated farther out let me use a wee bit more powder without being compressed but velocity dropped to 2510 with 81gr. Cases were as clean as a whistle.
All the loads were accurate enough to smack a four inch gong at 200 yards off sticks. The gun is a little ferocious for benchrest shooting anyhow and was never meant for that. Fun to shoot, and its going out today to find a whitetail.

Since you can shoot 458 wm in it I load the wm with 72 gr H4895 under a 400 gr woodliegh and get 2420-2450 fps from a 26.5" barrel. Standard wlr primer. Burns clean and is more accurate than I can shoot
