There's also the .460 G&A, which is essentially the same thing, that is, a .404 necked up.

Interesting. I'm not sure how a belted straight walled case like the 458 Winchester or Lott could develop a headspace problem. Really, it's difficult to imagine it for anything unless you're actually not hitting the shoulder when you're FL sizing.

I was wondering the same thing here. I checked my loading records, and I'm a little north of 400 reloaded/fired rounds total on the same 50 pieces brass for my 458 Win mag and haven't lost one yet. Of course I back off the fl sizing die and anneal, but still, it should only be able to bottom out on the belt when sizing AFAIK.

i do not know which caliber Douglas did not like lol ... he even liked so much the 375 ruger that he did try the 300 win mag brass in it ... and as i proved as well it worked very well ...

Its so short though
Even at 62k psi it lacks any real umph. A 45-90 express would be better but who wants a old rimed case, when they dont want a belt?
