.458 Socom

Ive been wanting to build a bolt action for a while. Several ppl ive conversed with state side love them. They can run suppressors and say the heavier bullets really flatten the hogs

I have only found a couple, one company called Bishop firearms uses a Rem 700 action, they also converted a Marlin 1895 to .458 Socom as well, another company called Mars Armory, also on Rem 700 Action

The thing about a lever is 458 Socom, is the 45-70 pretty much matches it (modern rounds) so I don’t think you’ll ever see one, and there are enough 45-70’s or 450 marlins. I think Ruger makes or made a 458 socom bolt gun, sounds like a fun rig, but again for a thick Bush heavy hitting rig, a lever is still very handy and can be chambered I an equivalent caliber so it is a bit of reinventing the wheel.

Something like a T97 rechambered/rebored to 458 socom would be cool, but late for that though..

Sorry, it was 450 BM I was thinking of, both Ruger and mossberg make one.

A 783 with say a 16” barrel would be sweet though too. Nice if you could find something that fed from AR mags maybe, I guess the Ruger gun site probably does that.
