I have recently started relaoding .45 acp and 9mm,and bought a pound on Unique to start. I saw that it was applicable in both cases, and gave decent size charges, which I like to help eliminate double charging. I realize it's a bit dirty and doesn't meter as well as others, but need to shoot it up before I buy something else.
I also started cassting my own bullets, and am using a 200gr round flat nose for the .45. My data only shows one load of 5.1gr with this bullet, for 810fps and 9600psi. I've shot a number of these, and while they work fine, they definitley feel pretty mild, and the cases only travel about half the distance they would with factory loads. I'm wondering if there's data out there that shows a load with a bit more pop to it? In my book, the starting data and max data both read 5.1,which I find a bit odd. Strangely enough, this manual also states that I can use 5.5 gr of Unique with my cast 125gr bullets. The 9mm seems to recoil as much or more than the .45 at this point.
I want to keep things safe and don't really need to hotrod it, but am wondering why they would list a load with under 10 000 psi as max,an d show other powders with the same bullet up to over 19 0000psi? Perhaps because the powder is bulky? Anyhow, if you have any data that elaborates on this I'd really liketo see it. And,next time I buy powder, what would you recommend that will work well in both these guns with thier respective cast bullets?

The starting and max load data being the same sounds like an editing error. I've been using 6gr of unique with the Lyman 452460 and it works well for me. The Lyman book shows a max of 7.5 grains for both of their cast 200gr bullets.
