I thought 45ACP was so vastly superior in "stopping power" that hollowpoint ammo was not necessary?

Apples and oranges: in FMJ, .45 IS vastly superior to 9mm. In military engagements, the .45 hardball earned its reputation as a "stopper".
When you compare hollowpoint to hollowpoint, the difference is less, but .45 does still have more kinetic energy. Only a fool would CHOOSE to shoot a threat with ball ammo, BUT, of course, none of us here would actually be CHOOSING to shoot someone, right?
