.45acp-imr4227

4227 is a powder typically used for magnum loads. Try International or Universal Clays.

Universal Clays is GTG, however there are very few loads listed for International Clays in the Hodgdon manual for handguns, and those that are consist of a very few, very light loads with cast bullets only. The charges are very light and therefore very easy to double up on inadvertantly.

I buy 9mm copper plated bullets made by West Coast Bullets and like them. A bit more money than lead, but cleaner for sure.
The reason I buy these is for my AR. I don't want to waste my money on FMJs just for plinking and don't want to shoot lead through a long barrel. Too dirty. The coated bullets help keep the gun clean.

Do you use tightwad, er, I mean, tightgroup for this load also?;)

Aww Joe - we are all titewads - we will spend any amount of money to save a buck.

Hodgdon Titewad is even faster burning and cheaper than Titegroup - though I haven't tried it.
