Hi All,
I have been watching my .45 shooting/accuracy go from OK, to bad, to oh my....
It is my trigger pull and flinch...
I have to get out of the 'blast away' mentality.
And back into the target discipline mentality.
Then, I'll bring the load back up to IPSC major levels.
So, I'm looking for people's target or powderpuff or mousefart loads that I can use to re-train my trigger finger, and hopefully see some nice holes appearing the middle of the taget for a change...
I typically use 4.2gr of Clays under 230gr Frontier JRN.
I've tried 3.5gr which has quite a bit less recoil, and will make up a bunch more of those today.
How low can I go?
I also have some 230gr lead SWC to try with light loads.
(5.3gr of HP-38 is my typical load)
And some 200gr lead SWC (none loaded so far).
Lead is cheaper than jacketed, can typically be shot with less pressure/powder, and I have to clean the gun anyway.
All suggestions are welcomed!!
Thanks!
Sean
*** p.s. Does anyone have a lower-recoil IPSC Major load than 4.2 gr of Clays?
p.s. I am shooting a customized Para 14-45 limited and have the following powders in-house
Clays
HP-38 (bulk of W231)
Titegroup
Trail Boss
HS-6
H-110
H322
