Is there any advantage to using different size primers in the 45 acp? My loading machine is set up now for small pistol primers --- possible advantage may be not having to change it. Anyone made the switch? Any benefits?

Dave.

Got a few hundred small pistol primed .45 brass --haven't gotten around to using them , but don't see how it'd make ANY difference unless I run out of Lg. pistol primers.----- during the zompocalyspe !

Large primer brass for .45ACP is just more common than small primer brass version. I don't believe there are reliability issues. Usually all small primer .45 ACP brass has NT marking on it.

I switch my press primer tubes and stay with large primers as I find the cases I have used purchased and range brass all have large primer pockets

I cant see it being any advantage, but I mostly use the large primer cases. I save up the small cases and run a batch occasionally.
